ESTHER MACNER, Esq. is founder of Get Jewish Divorce Inc. (2012), a non-profit organization, whose mission is the prevention of abuse in the Jewish divorce process, through education, advocacy and individual counseling, serving the California Jewish communities. She is a relocated New York trial attorney, divorce mediator, and former Assistant District Attorney, who specialized in family law, domestic violence, and rabbinic court representation. She presents Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Seminars on rabbinic courts, divorce law, constitutionality of the New York Get laws and Jewish Pre-nuptial Agreements. In 2012 she launched International Agunah Day in LA and as an annual event in solidarity with victims of Get Refusal in Israel and throughout the diaspora.
She received her J.D. from Cardozo Law, M.A. from the Jewish Theological Seminary, and B.A. from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
